Minister for Defence Production lead Pakistan’s delegation to Malaysia to participate in Defence Services Asia 2014 Exhibition and Conference

Islamabad, April 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain led a defence industry delegation of Pakistan to Malaysia to participate in the Defence Services Asia 2014 Exhibition and Conference being held in Kuala Lumpur from 14-17 April 2014. The event is one of the top five Defence shows in the world in which 1000 companies from 50 countries are participating.

Group pavilions of 28 countries from Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Korea, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, Ukraine USA and ASEAN countries have been set up in the exhibitions.

During his visit, the Minister for Defence Production and his delegation held key meetings with the Malaysian Defence Minister, Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, and Chief of Air Staff and discussed joint collaboration and sharing of expertise.

The event is expected to serve as a platform for creating favourable linkages and forging partnerships besides offering opportunities for joint collaborations in defence manufacturing and procurement fields.

The premier defence exhibition which is themed “Strengthening Security and Regional Stability” is carrying a display of world’s sophisticated hardware and electronic warfare in land, air and sea defence, battlefield healthcare products/technology, training and simulation systems and police and security peripherals.

Pakistani companies which set up their stalls include Advance Engineering Research Organization (AERO), Defence Export Promotion Organisation, Pakistan Ordnance Factories, Global Industries and Defence Solutions, H. Nizamdin and Sons, Heavy Industries Taxila, Institute of Industrial Systems, Scientific Engineering and Technology Services, Xpert Engineering Services, and Marine Systems Limited. A large number of foreign and local delegates who visited the Pakistani stalls on the first day greatly appreciated the high standards of defence equipment manufactured in Pakistan.
