Islamabad, February 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mr. Zahid Hamid chaired a meeting to review the tentative budget demand for the year 2014-15 regarding the development projects of Ministry of Science and Technology.
All the Heads/Project Directors of the MoST organizations were invited to justify the budget demand of their relevant project(s). The proposed budget demand outlay stood at Rs.8.700 Billion.
In the meeting emphasis was on completing the ongoing project portfolio. The upcoming priority projects of the present government pertaining to areas like Renewable Energy, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Fuel Cell Technology, HRD, Ethanol from Biomass etc., were discussed in detail.
However, keeping in view the development budget trend, of MoST in the past, the Honorable Minister directed MoST to prioritize the projects and keep the upper cap of the proposed development budget demand to the tune of Rs.4.00 billion. Mr. Kamran Ali Qureshi, Federal Secretary and senior officer from the ministry were also present in the meeting.
