Minister of Petroleum visits Oil and Gas Control Cell

Islamabad, May 06, 2013 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Sohail Wajahat H. Siddiqui visited the ‘Oil and Gas Control Cell’ in the Ministry. The Oil and Gas Control Cell has been established to ensure continuous supply of Oil and Gas supply during Election 2013.

While visiting the Oil and Gas Control Cell Sohail Wajahat H. Siddiqui said that he had a detailed discussion with the Minister for Water and Power Dr. Musadik Malik and Minister for IT and Telecom Dr. Sania Nishtar regarding this control cell and both the above ministries will be providing full support for the continuous supply of electricity and gas and to keep the telecommunication and mobile network operational during the elections 2013.

The Minister said that all the relevant Ministries and departments will coordinate to ensure the availability oil and gas for the power sector and to keep the petrol pumps, CNG stations and telephone and mobile phone networks operational during the election days so that smooth electoral process can be ensured.

Oil and Gas Control Cell will be operational round-the-clock and all information regarding oil and gas stocks and supplies will be available in the control cell. The minister directed the officials concerned to ensure the co-ordination at all levels among various ministries and departments to make the Control Cell a success.
