Minister of State’s Meeting with United Nations Special Envoy

Islamabad: Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar received the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy to Pakistan, Ambassador Rauf Engin Soysal at the Foreign Office today.

The Special Envoy apprised the Minister of State on the current status of rehabilitation projects undertaken by the UN in the flood affected areas. The Minister of State appreciated the efforts of the Special Envoy and assured him of Pakistan’s continued support and cooperation in making his mission a success.

The Friends of Democratic Pakistan (FODP) process also came under discussion. In regard to the follow up of the Third FODP Ministerial and the meeting held in Brussels last October, the Minister of State noted the need for speedy implementation of various approved programmes and projects.
