Ministers Discuss Expansion of Key Welfare Initiatives

Islamabad: In a meeting held in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, and Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, reviewed the government’s ongoing welfare initiatives aimed at reducing poverty nationwide.

The discussion focused on the key welfare programs under the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation. Syed Imran Ahmed Shah briefed his counterpart on the progress of the Benazir Kafaalat Programme and the Nashonuma Scheme, both of which are providing essential financial and nutritional support to millions of families across the country.

The ministers also discussed the role of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, which is engaged in promoting economic self-reliance through community-based projects. The Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal was highlighted for its ongoing financial assistance to vulnerable households.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf shared insights from his constituency, underscoring the need for enhanced cooperation to increase the reach and effectiveness of welfare efforts.

Both ministers agreed on the importance of mutual cooperation in implementing welfare programs and promoting socio-economic development at the grassroots level.

Syed Imran Ahmed Shah reiterated the government’s dedication to using all resources available to foster public welfare and reduce poverty, aiming for inclusive growth and comprehensive social protection for citizens.
