Mirwaiz, Gilani condemn Shopian killings

Srinagar, September 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, have called for complete shutdown in the territory to protest against the killing of four youth by Indian troops in Shopian, today. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement while denouncing the gruesome act asked the dignitaries, ambassadors and Diplomats of various countries who are in Srinagar to visit the bereaved families in Shopian to get the real feel ‘Ahsas-e-Kashmir’.

Syed Ali Gilani in his statement said that the people should protest against the unjustified killings in Shopian and observe complete strike, tomorrow. On the other hand, the spokesman of Jamaat-e-Islami of the territory in his statement termed the killing as the worst form of state terrorism.

The Executive Director of the Voice of Victims, Abdul Qadeer Dar, Chief Organizer, Abdul Rauf Khan and General Secretary, Altaf Ahmed Butt, in a joint statement in Srinagar paid rich tributes to the martyred youth. They urged the international community and the world human rights organisations to take notice of the worst human rights violations by Indian troops and police in the occupied territory.
