National Accountability Bureau arrests Deputy Superintendent of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Islamabad, April 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today arrested a serving Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Department presently posted as DSP (City) District Mardan, for allegedly making illegal assets worth million of rupees.

As per details, the case of illegal assets of the accused was primarily unearthed following various complaints regarding illegal detention of innocent people were reported to the Honourable Peshawar Court against the accused while he was serving as SHO Hayatabad, Peshawar.

Taking cognizance of the highhandedness, the honourable Court directed Director General NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to investigate and unearth illegal assets of the accused accumulated through ill-gotten money / gains.

In compliance of the directives of the honourable court, NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa authorized inquiry into the matter which was subsequently converted into investigations. An FIR was also lodged against the accused in NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The findings of the investigations established the allegations and properties worth millions of rupees were detected which were purchased during his tenure as Station House Officer (SHO) Hayatabad Peshawar.
