National Accountability Bureau arrests former Director General Provincial Housing Authority, former Land Acquisition Collector in more than Rs 400million corruption case

Islamabad, April 10, 2014 (PPI-OT): NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today arrested Javed Ahmad Ex-DG Provincial Housing Authority, Naveed Qadir Ex-Land Acquisition Collector and Muhammad Asif Frontman involved in embezzlement of more than Rs 400 million.

The accused persons managed to pocket more than Rs 400 Million on the pretext of land acquisition for the Provincial Housing Authority (PHA) Housing Scheme at Moza Darwaza Nathiagali, in the year 2012.

Interestingly, the said land for which payment was not even approved by the Competent Authority. PHA also initiated scheme without obtaining NOC from Forest Deptt / Galiat Development Authority (GDA) and without preparing feasibility report which was a pre-requisite, thus abusing the authority.

Award of Rs 261 Million announced by Land Acquisition Collector for unapproved land and for that an amount to the tune of Rs 400 Million was paid that to a planted person (Frontman) namely Muhammad Asif instead of original land owners with the intention to embezzle the public money.
