National Disaster Management Authority bids Farewell to UN Special Envoy

Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) hosted a farewell dinner in honour of H.E Rauf Engin Soysal, the outgoing UN Special Envoy for Assistance to Pakistan. The Chairman NDMA, Dr. Zafar Qadir, NDMA Officials and representatives of various humanitarian organizations were present at the occasion.

The Chairman NDMA gave a detailed briefing about the current flood situation in Sindh and the rescue and relief initiatives of NDMA in the flood hit areas. Dr. Zafar Qadir, while speaking at the event, lauded the services of the UN Special Envoy in the interest of Pakistan.

In his address, H.E Rauf Engin Soysal termed his stay in Pakistan as very pleasant and memorable. He said that Pakistan was just like a second home for him.
