Nature has blessed us with rich treasure both in shape of natural resources and talented manpower: Governor Khyber Pkhtunkhwa

Islamabad, February 16, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Khyber Pkhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Shaukatullah while highly eulogizing the successful conduct of 3 – day KP Expo – 2014 at Lok Virsa, Islambad has said that the Nature has blessed us with rich treasure both in shape of natural resources and talented manpower, and the art and crafts which displayed at this worthwhile event, were indeed the reflection of true face of our culture.

Addressing as the chief guest at the concluding ceremony of the Exhibition held under the aegis of Peshawar Division Branch of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industries on Sunday evening, the Governor further observed, “this is what which has to be promoted in best interest of the nation and this also the best way to promote the soft image of the people of the province as well”.

The ceremony was largely attended by dignitaries, families of diplomatic corps and senior officials besides representatives from trade and business community, public and public and private sector’s financial organizations, the US Aid, SMEDA and Quick Action Foundation in particular. Art and artifacts; hand knitted and weaved garments; crockery, shoes, brass made artifacts and cultural shows displayed at the exhibition were the sources of great attraction for the visitors and audience.

Responding to the points raised by Mrs. Tasneem Zahir Shah, President of KP Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries in her welcome address, the Governor said, the government is mindful of the valuable steps which are underway under the auspices of the chamber and they will find more positive response to promote trade and business activities in the province and ensure them a positive and constructive environment available in making this possible.

He also pointed out that forceful attempts are also underway under the aegis of FATA Secretariat to promote art and culture of tribes too and there will also be more positive developments in projecting soft image of the tribes of FATA in the near future as well.

The Governor also desired that the respective chambers of commerce and industries both from the province and FATA should also join hands with their sister organizations both within the country and abroad and significantly contribute in securing better return of the exports and services which our respective people have been making and the potentials which needs to be explored.

Referring to the importance of the exhibition, the Governor said, the fact that promotion of culture, skill and talent were the core aims of holding this event were indeed commendable approach to promote the soft image of the people of the province and the country as well.

Meanwhile the Governor also went round the stalls displayed by various trade and business organizations and individuals. Earlier, Mrs. Tasneem Zahir Shah welcoming the Governor and guests said that tremendously encouraged by the response of the visitors at the Lok Virsa they have decided not only to continue this practice and the next event of the nature will be held at Peshawar in near future.
