Nayeem remembers martyrs of Sopore

Srinagar, January 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference leader, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, has paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Sopore, who were gunned down by Indian troops on 6th January, 1993.Nayeem Ahmed Khan in a statement issued in Srinagar urged the world human rights organizations to impress upon India to initiate inquiry in the incidents of massacres committed by Indian troops in the occupied territory.

“The occupation forces are aware about the fact that people in Jammu and Kashmir have never accepted their supremacy and rule, nor they will withdraw from their demand of freedom, so these forces are using the tactics of killing and destroying the properties of unarmed Kashmiris to break their resolve,” he said.

The APHC leader pointed out that the troops had killed dozens of innocent Kashmiris in Sopore 20 years ago and set ablaze their residential houses and business establishments in order to break their economic strength so that they would surrender before New Delhi and its military might.

He maintained that time had proved again and again that the Kashmiris would never give up their demand of freedom because they deserved it as India deserved from British in 1947. Nayeem Khan expressed his anger on the fact that the perpetrators of Sopore massacre were roaming freely like every criminal who was involved in the killing of Kashmiris.
