Nayeem urges India to take steps for Kashmir resolution

Srinagar, June 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the leader of All Parties Hurriyet Conference and Chairman of National Front Nayeem Ahmad Khan has said that India must accept the stark reality about the Kashmir dispute and take serious steps to resolve the political dispute according to aspirations of the Kashmiris.

Addressing party workers in Srinagar, he said, “New Delhi is keeping its eyes closed to the fact that Jammu Kashmir is a disputed territory.”

“To deceive itself and people, New Delhi is using oppressive measures to curb the resistance movement. India and its local collaborators have jailed our hundreds of pro-freedom people in Tihar, Jodhpur, Rajasthan and jails of J and K only to crush the genuine voice of the Kashmiris,” he added.

He recalled the sacrifices and the plight of detainees including Muhammad Ayoub Dar, Muhammad Ayoub Mir, Dr Shafi Sharyati, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Dr Muhammad Qasim, Engineer Farooq Ahmad Dar, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Mir Hafiz Ullah, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, Ghulam Muhammad Butt, Farooq Ahmad Daga and Noor Muhammad and demanded their immediate release.

“The Kashmiris can never forget their brothers who are in jails because these people are facing every sort of oppression only for the freedom of their homeland and Kashmiris are well aware about it,” he said.

Nayeem Ahmad Khan also expressed his concern about the continued house arrest of aged and ailing Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani.
