Norway signs deal with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime aiming at improving law and criminal justice in Punjab

Islamabad, June 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): Norway has signed an agreement with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), aiming at improving law and criminal justice in Punjab.

The newly appointed Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Pakistan, Mr. César Guedes and the Norwegian Ambassador Ms. Cecilie Landsverk signed a project agreement on 6 June with a grant of NOK 1,75 million.

The project will support improved institutional capacities for police training and crime scene investigation skills and processes, as well as improved training in prosecutor career development and police-prosecutor cooperation.
