Punjab Chief Minister moves to tears while listening to details of incident

Lahore, January 08, 2017 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the residence of 60 years old Zohra Bibi who died a few days ago due to non-provision of appropriate medical facilities at Jinnah Hospital Lahore. He consoled the sons, daughter and other members of bereaved family and expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over this tragic incident. The Chief Minister sought details from the sons and other relatives of the deceased about the incident who told him that they took her to many hospitals but no one paid attention to her.

Listening to the details of the incident, the Chief Minister moved to tears and expressed anger at carelessness, negligence and irresponsibility on the part of doctors. Shehbaz Sharif said that the matter of life and death is in the hand of Allah Almighty but she must have been considered as a human being.

This is a great cruelty that the deceased had to visit four hospitals but no one paid attention to her treatment, he added. He said that it is the responsibility of doctors to serve the humanity and save lives of the people as they are associated with a noble profession. The Chief Minister offered Fateha for the departed soul and assured the family and relatives of the deceased that the responsible would be awarded punishment.
