Karachi, December 26, 2017 (PPI-OT):The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) expressed happiness and felicitated Miftah Ismail on being appointed as adviser finance, revenue and economic affairs and Rana Afzal as minister of state finance and wished both best of luck and success in their challenging task. UNISAME is confident both the leaders will prove themselves very competent.
President UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver said Miftah Ismail in a message said “The Prime Minister has instructed me to try to lower individual tax rates, widen the tax net, come up with a scheme to repay the refunds owed to our taxpayers, reform certain corporate taxes that are adversely affecting capital formation and also study the possibility of allowing Pakistanis to bring their undocumented wealth into the country’s economy.”
Miftah Ismail added that at the same time he will continue to lower the budget deficit and the current account deficit and boost the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
He said “These are not easy targets the Prime Minister has set. But then PMLN has never shielded away from difficulty. With the guidance of my leaders and the support of my friends, Inshallah I hope to help Prime Minister Shahid Abbasi meet as many targets as possible.”
He further concluded that he has come into this office after many years in different government positions and holds a reputation of integrity and considered it to be of absolute importance that he go out with reputation intact. Anything less would be a disservice to himself, his family, his party and his country. “May Allah help me in this endeavour” Miftah Ismail said.
