Islamabad, April 11, 2018 (PPI-OT): President Mamnoon Hussain has asked Ministry of Climate Change to prepare a comprehensive package to ensure provision of best possible water and sanitation services to every home in the country. He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of three-day South Asian Conference on Sanitation in Islamabad today (Wednesday). The President called for consultations with the provinces to make the strategy more effective and meaningful.
The President told the participants that Pakistan vigorously implemented a strategy and as a consequence sanitation facility is now available to two third families. He said similar successes were also achieved by Sri Lanka and Maldives. The President said South Asian countries can achieve greater successes in the sector through mutual cooperation and collaboration.
He said CPEC would help connect the region, paving way for provision of international standard facilities of life to the people. Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain has emphasized the need for harmonizing all the educational institutions with requirements of the modern age.
He made these remarks while addressing the 9th convocation of the Virtual University in Islamabad today (Wednesday). The President said standard of education cannot be compromised as education sector bears immense importance for the development and prosperity of any nation. He said students and teachers should keep them abreast of the changes in the fields of science and technology while at the same time concentrating on research and development.
