Chief Secretary Sindh expresses displeasure over officials running Reverse Osmosis plants of Mithi and Islamkot
Karachi, August 14, 2018 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Major Retired Azam Suleman khan expressed his displeasure over officials for running Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants bellow the original capacities of the plants. The Chief Secretary Sindh directed Secretary Public Health Engineering (PHE) to submit a detailed report that why these RO plants are not providing drinking water as per their original capacities. This he directed during a meeting presided over by him on Tuesday which was attended by the Chairman Planning and Development Board, Secretary Energy, Secretary public health engineering and others concerned officers.
The meeting was briefed about RO and Ultra filtration plants installed in various parts of the province. The meeting was also briefed about the projects being shifted from Special Initiatives and Local Government Departments to the Public Health Engineering and others Departments. The Chief Secretary further stated that Public Health Engineering Department will now have great responsibilities.
“I believe that the officers of PHE will work with all their zeal and enthusiasm for the better water supply and sanitation”. He further states that as per directives of water commission all projects will be shifted to the concerned departments as soon as possible. He further warned officers that no negligence will be tolerated in providing pure drinking water to the people of the province and all directives of water commission will be followed as per their spirits.
