Federal Minister for inter provincial coordination, Dr Fahmida Mirza departed early morning to participate in the opening ceremony of South Asian Games in Nepal
Islamabad, December 01, 2019 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister of IPC, Dr. Fahmida Mirza has departed early morning for Nepal (Kathmandu) to participate in the opening ceremony of 13th South Asian Games. Secretary IPC, Akbar Durrani along with the contingent left a day before. Dr. Fahmida stated that sports play a pivotal role in everyone’s life and that she has always favoured the concept of sports diplomacy as it works as an efficient and systematic way towards promotion of peace between states.
She expressed that she is really looking forward towards the performance of athletes and wished that their hard work may bring a good name and laurels to Pakistan. Earlier, in the month of November on 20th Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Ms Sewa Lamsal, extended her invitation to the Minister. Accepting the invitation, she said that she is eagerly waiting to visit Nepal as SAG provide SAARC member countries a huge opportunity to cooperate with each other at all levels and to strengthen the region as a whole.
