Karachi, January 13, 2020 (PPI-OT): Sindh minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that the last date is 31st January for filing of Property and Professional tax and there will no extension in given date because it has already been extended for one month as the actual date was 31st December. This he said while presiding over a meeting here in his office on Monday.
Secretary Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Abdul Halim Shaikh Director General ET and NC Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Director Taxes-I Shabuddin Khatri and Director Taxes-II Iqbal Ahmed Laghari also attended the meeting. While briefing the meeting Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui told that a massive awareness campaign was also launched through media to invite the attention of the tax payers and for their convenience the date of filing property and Professional Tax had also been extended.
Addressing the meeting Provincial minister for ET and NC and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla asked the Directors concerned to speed up the issuance of challans in order to get proper response from tax taxpayers. He also directed to have regular meetings with traders’ organizations and pursue them to deposit professional tax. He also asked to constitute special teams to improve property tax and pay special attention towards the issue.
