Lahore, November 16, 2020 (PPI-OT): On the instructions of IG Punjab, a crackdown against anti-social elements has been intensified across the province. Sheikhupura Police arrested 39 suspects of 09 dangerous robbery gangs in the last month and traced 16 cases. 102 Kalashnikovs, 396 pistols, 74 rifles, 71 guns, 10 revolvers and more than 5,849 rounds of cartridges were recovered from 660 suspects in the ongoing operation against illicit weapons. It has been directed to ensure that peaceful citizens are not disturbed during police operations.
IG Punjab Inam Ghani On the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani, operations against anti-social elements are in full swing across the province and crackdown has been intensified especially against notorious criminals, illegal arms, drug dealers and kite sellers ۔ In this regard, Sheikhupura police during the last one month took emergency measures to arrest anti-social elements and arrested several anti-social elements.
Police teams are not only active in enforcing government directives regarding Corona but also the process of uprooting the criminals and binding them is also underway. In this regard, Sheikhupura police under the leadership of District Police Officer Sheikhupura Ghulam Mubashir Mekan arrested 39 accused of 09 dangerous robbery gang and traced 16 cases. Cash amounting to Rs. 1830,000, 14 expensive mobile phones were seized from the possession of the accused. , 08 motorcycles and modern weapons were recovered.
As a result of special operation against proclaimed offenders, 50 A-category criminals and 154 B-category criminals were arrested. In addition, arrests of 03 top ten proclaimed offenders have also been made. A crackdown on illegal weapons was carried out across the district. As a result, 660 accused were arrested and 102 Kalashnikovs, 396 pistols, 30 bore 74 riffles, 71 guns, 10 revolvers and more than 5849 cartridges were recovered from their possession. 660 cases were registered against them in this regard.
Indiscriminate crackdowns on drug traffickers continue throughout the district, with 170 drug dealers arrested and 165 cases registered against them, including 310 grams of opium, 151986 grams of chars, 55 grams of heroin, 18 grams of ice and 3376 Liters of liquor and 02 active distilleries were recovered. Under the National Action Plan, 04 cases were registered for violation of the Loudspeaker Act.
