On the instructions of IG Punjab, crackdown against anti-social elements has been intensified across the province

Lahore, November 16, 2020 (PPI-OT): On the instructions of IG Punjab, crackdown against anti-social elements has been intensified across the province. Kasur police arrested 494 suspects, including eight dacoit gangs involved in dozens of serious incidents last month. Stolen goods worth Rs 28 lakh, drugs and modern weapons worth millions were also recovered from the possession of the accused. It has been directed to ensure that peaceful citizens are not disturbed during police operations. IGP Punjab Inam Ghani. On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Inam Ghani, crackdown against anti-social elements especially proclaimed offenders, drugs peddlers and kite flyers has been intensified across the province.

In this regard, Kasur police took emergency measures to arrest anti-social elements during the last one month and arrested several anti-social elements. DP Kasur Imran Kishwar gave details of the police operations and the results obtained. During the last one month, police teams arrested 494 criminals, including eight dacoit gangs involved in dozens of serious incidents during intelligence-based operations in different parts of the city, and recovered stolen property worth millions of rupees and modern illegal weapons from their possession. Police took emergency measures to arrest serious and professional criminals as well as professional and habitual criminals.

While conducting operations against criminals, 128 dangerous criminals involved in serious cases like murder, robbery and dacoity were arrested while 33 fugitives of courts were also arrested. The arrested criminals include 28 A category proclaimed offenders. Similarly, 26 accused of 8 dangerous robbery gangs involved in dozens of serious incidents were arrested and Rs. 2.8 million worth of stolen and modern illegal weapons were recovered from their possession. 86 cases were traced from the arrests of the accused.

Similarly, while cracking down on drug dealers, 93 notorious drug dealers were arrested and 62 kg of cannabis, 908 liters of liquor, 200 liters of lahan and 06 kilns were recovered from the possession of the accused and cases were registered. In a crackdown against 146 illegal weapon holders, 03 Kalashnikovs, 08 rifles, 30 guns, 02 carbines and 101 pistols have been seized from their possession whereas, raids were carried out on 13 gambling dens and 68 accused were arrested with red hands and amount of gambling around one lakh has also been recovered.

DPO Kasur Imran Kishwar said that the environment of communication and trust building between the police and the people is being improved and the convenience of the citizens is being given priority by encircling the anti-social elements so that awareness of protection in public may be exposed and they consider police as their helper. He further said that crackdown against proclaimed offenders, robbers, drug dealers, habitual criminals and criminal elements would continue on a daily basis to ensure safety of life and property of the citizens and I am personally supervising it.
