PDM eyeing elected government’s ouster through undemocratic path by creating chaos in the country: Shibli Faraz
Islamabad, December 26, 2020 (PPI-OT): Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Shibli Faraz has said the leaders of the opposition parties’ alliance are treading an undemocratic path to dislodge a democratically elected government by creating chaos in the country through their protests.
Addressing a news conference flanked by Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Ali Amin Gandapur in Islamabad, he said the 11-party alliance is only ‘democratic’ by virtue of its name, but its narrative has nothing to do with the democratic norms. He said the so-called democratic alliance wants to come into the power after toppling the incumbent government through unconstitutional and undemocratic means.
He said the present government is a ‘democratic’ dispensation as it has come into the power after winning the last general election, which were held in a transparent manner and later verified by the international organizations including FAFEN. The Minister said the opposition leaders did not approach any constitutional forum to register their complaint of any alleged rigging in the last elections, but rather resorted to activities aimed at destabilizing the country.
About rift in the JUI-F ranks, Shibli Faraz said Maulana Fazlur Rehman decision to expel some senior party leaders has exposed his undemocratic behaviour. Speaking on the occasion, Ali Amin Gandapur said the JUI-F chief has started using threatening language against the institutions when asked to give answer of his properties.
