Islamabad, January 05, 2021 (PPI-OT): Synoptic Situation
A strong westerly wave is present over upper parts of the country and likely to persist in upper parts of the country till 24 hours. Moist currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are reaching north-eastern parts of the country.
Rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over hills and few hailstorm) is expected in Islamabad, upper/central Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Isolated heavy falls are likely to occur in north eastern Punjab, Potohar region and Kashmir. Snowfall is also expected in Murree and Galiyat. Cold and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over hills and few hailstorm) is expected in north-eastern Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and its adjoining areas. Dense fog is likely in plains of Punjab and upper Sindh.
