Islamabad, January 07, 2021 (PPI-OT): Synoptic Situation

A shallow westerly wave is present over upper parts of the country.

Thursday

Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country while very cold in Northern areas and North Balochistan. However, rain-thunderstorm (snowfall over hills) is expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during evening/night. Dense fog is likely in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.

Friday

Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country while very cold in Northern areas and North Balochistan. However, rain-thunderstorm (snowfall over hills) is expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Dense fog is likely in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.

Rain-thunderstorm (snowfall over hills) occurred in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and Punjab. Cold and dry weather prevailed over other parts of the country, while very cold in north Balochistan and northern areas.
