Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has taken notice of a news-item that appeared in a national Urdu daily mentioning that sugar cartels are planning to increase the prices of sugar before Ramadan (Ramzan).
The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Industries to keep a close vigilance over the production and marketing of sugar to ensure that the price of sugar remains affordable for common people. He also asked the provincial governments to check the possibility of hoarding and black-marketing of sugar particularly before the holy month of Ramadan (Ramzan).
