Senior Superintendent Police Traffic visits Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry vows to facilitate businessmen
Islamabad, November 28, 2013 (PPI-OT): Mr. Asmatullah Junajo, SSP (Traffic), Islamabad Traffic Police visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and exchanged views with Shaban Khalid, President ICCI on various issues of business community. Both sides stressed on the need of close liaison and collaboration between Chamber, police and CDA to resolve businessmen problems and achieve optimum results for society.
The SSP Traffic said businessmen are playing a significant role by promoting businesses, providing jobs and generating revenue for the government and Islamabad Traffic Police would make all possible efforts to facilitate them in their efforts for smooth growth of business activities.
He said businessmen pay largest share in tax revenue and it is the responsibility of police to act as a facilitator for them. He said Islamabad Fruits and Vegetable Market is the most frequently visited place in the federal capital and we are taking measures to make it clean and consumer friendly. He assured that ITP would continue to cooperate with ICCI to assist businessmen in their business pursuits.
Speaking at the occasion, Shaban Khalid, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry appreciated the performance of Islamabad Traffic Police and termed it as a role model police. He said business community, local administration and civic body are important stakeholders of the local economy and there is a need to develop strong coordination between them to resolve problems and help trade activities to flourish.
He said the role of traffic police is so important in facilitating the whole supply chain right from the farms to whole sale market and up to the retailers. Smooth flow of supply chain with the help of traffic police will ensure availability of commodities at affordable prices to end consumers.
He said CDA is getting a huge amount from Sabzi Mandi but paying no attention to fulfill its commitments and develop proper infrastructure there. CDA had approved two auction platforms for Sabzi Mandi, which have not been developed as yet due to which traders are facing great problems.
He said ICCI intends to develop work close with ITP and CDA to develop a proper infrastructure in markets so that businessmen may not face any problems promoting business activities.
