Karachi, February 13, 2014 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Rauf Akhtar Farooqui paid a sudden visit to various KMC departments on Thursday and suspended the absent officers and employees. He also directed to issue show cause notices to several employees.
Superintendent Engineer Building, Electrical and Mechanical Executive Engineer were called and directed to enhance cleanliness condition in two days. According to details Administrator Karachi paid sudden visit to various KMC departments including Information Technology, Health and Medical, Media Management, Vehicle, Sr. Director Land and Estate, Kachchi Abadi, under construction Command and Control Room and others.
He took strict notice of absence of officers and staff and directed to suspend them and take disciplinary action against them. He expressed displeasure on worse condition of cleanliness in departments and directed relevant directors to ensure proper cleanliness in the departments otherwise disciplinary action would be taken against them.
During the visit of Information Technology Department, Administrator Karachi directed to suspend absent officers and staff including Director I.T. Khalid Faheem, Program Officers Arif Khan, Asad, Deputy Director Javed Akhtar, Najam, Masood Sharif and other staff.
He directed Sr. Director I.T. Masood Alam to ensure cleanliness and discipline in the office in three days. During the visit of Medical and Health Department he took notice that several officers were absent and others were on their seats.
He directed to issue show cause notices against such staff. Director Vehicle Muhammad Bashir Saddozai was directed to remove the small cabins in his office on immediate basis and to ensure proper attendance of staff.
During visit of Media Management Department, he directed to improve cleanliness condition and to prepare plan for making department more active. Administrator Karachi said that it was very painful that officers and employees take salary and other benefits from KMC but they do not come office.
He also directed Superintendent Engineer Building to enhance cleanliness condition. Civic Centre is the identity of the city and land of mark and revival of its commanding structure is also necessary.
He directed that fountains installed in Civic Centre should be restored in their actual condition and measures for cleanliness and parking should also be taken. He also checked attendance in various departments and enquired about responsibilities of officers and staff.
