Srinagar, November 04, 2013 (PPI-OT): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and world over will observe Jammu Martyrs’ Day on Wednesday to reaffirm the resolve to continue their liberation struggle till they achieve their inalienable right to self-determination.
During the first week of November in 1947, hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris were killed by the forces of Maharaja Hari Singh, Indian army and Hindu extremists in different parts of Jammu region while they were migrating to Pakistan.
Senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that the people of Kashmir would not allow the fanatic Hindu forces to repeat the history of November 1947 massacre. He said that the sacrifices rendered by the Muslims of Jammu region in the ongoing liberation struggle would always be remembered.
Senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, in a media interview in Srinagar, demanded that the people of Kashmir should be given their right to self-determination for ensuring lasting peace in the South Asian region.
Another APHC leader, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing a public meeting at Tral urged the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, to take practical steps for settlement of the decades-old dispute as per aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The puppet authorities in an affidavit filed in the High Court of occupied Kashmir admitted that over one thousand persons were arrested during protest demonstrations in the Kashmir Valley till October, this year.
