Srinagar, November 08, 2013 (PPI-OT): The High Court of occupied Kashmir has directed the police to file by November 18 the latest status report of its investigation into the killing of two youth in Islamabad town during the 2010 uprising . Hearing a petition filed by the families of the victims, Bilal Ahmad Najar and Noor-ul-Amin Dagga, a single bench of the court passed the order after it was informed that Additional Superintendent of Islamabad Police, Showkat Ali Dar, appointed as investigation officer, has been succeeded by a new police officer, Udhay Basker Balla.

“The successor shall continue with the investigation and conclude it with the reasonable dispatch,” the court said, asking the officer to probe the case in line with the various directives passed by the court from time to time.

Bilal Ahmad Najar and Noor-ul-Amin Dagga were killed on September 19, 2010, when Indian police opened fire on a funeral procession carrying the body of another youth, Maroof Ahmad Nath. Maroof’s body was fished out on the fateful day from Jhelum River after he had drowned when Indian troops had forced him to jump into the river on September 13.
