Srinagar, November 23, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) leader, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, and human rights activist, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, have expressed serious concern over the gross human rights abuses at the hands of Indian forces in the territory.
Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Muhammad Ahsan Untoo addressing a public gathering at Batagund in Verinag area of Islamabad district said that India through its more than 700,000 troops had converted Kashmir into a large concentration camp and was perpetrating heinous crimes to crush the Kashmiris’ peaceful and legitimate voice for right to self-determination.
They appealed the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to exert pressure on India to give the Kashmiri people their inalienable right.
Naqash and Untoo also visited the house of 105-year-old ailing civilian Peer Ghulam Nabi at Bata Gund Verinag and expressed solidarity with him. Ghulam Nabi was arrested by Indian troops along with his other family members including two women and sons and released after torture but his one of his sons is still in custody and the family has no information about his whereabouts.
It is pertinent to mention that his one son had been martyred some years back while his physically disabled son is languishing in Indian jails for last eight years.
