Srinagar, February 20, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, authorities imposed curfew in Pulwama town, today, to curb anti-India protests against the killing of a youth, Touseef Ahmad Dar, by the Indian forces in Charar Sharief. Authorities announced the imposition of curfew through loud speakers when people tried to leave for mosques early in the morning, locals said.

They added that even after the imposition of curfew, violent clashes were going on in Prichoo, area of the town between the protesters and the men in uniform.

The locals said that the youth was killed in a staged encounter. Defying curfew orders, the protesters came out on the streets and shouted anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. The protesters also attempt to set ablaze police vehicles.

Reports said a large gathering of protestors including women and children hit the streets in Muran chowk while Indian forces used brute force and fired teargas and bullets in which several were reported to be injured.
