Jeddah The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the Libyan Foreign Ministry headquarters in the capital Tripoli on Tuesday, killing a number of innocent people and wounding others.
OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen described the assault as a criminal and barbaric act, aimed at obstructing the efforts of national dialogue and destabilizing security and stability in the country. He urged local authorities to make every effort to apprehend the perpetrators and those behind them and bring them to justice.
Al-Othaimeen offered his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the government and people of Libya on the tragic loss of innocent lives. He also wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
The secretary general reiterated OIC’s firm stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and expressed its solidarity with the Libyan government in its determination to combat terrorism.
