Karachi, June 04, 2013 (PPI-OT): The 4th South Asia-Sichuan Business Promotion Roundtable Conference in Chengdu commenced on Tuesday with the keynote speakers President FPCCI Zubair Ahmed Malik and Patron In-Chief Pak-China Business Council, Tariq Sayeed were of the opinion that the Sichuan Forum has given the new dimensions to the promotion of regional trade in South Asia and Pak-China bilateral relations.
Zubair Ahmed Malik while speaking on the occasion said that FPCCI as Pakistan’s apex trade organisation has committed its positive role in strengthening and advancing the bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and regional economies particularly China.
Tariq Sayeed in his address called upon the countries in the region to strengthen bilateral trade ties as the regional trade is not only need of the hour but the key of success and economic viability. He indicated that South Asian intra-regional trade is increasing and getting more attractions to foreign investment, while economy developed rapidly in Sichuan, Tariq invited the Sichuan entrepreneurs to South Asian countries to invest enterprise and expand cooperation.
He said that Sichuan and South Asian countries economies are well connected through the Roundtable Forum which has established a long-term cooperation mechanism. He hoped to strengthen economic and trade cooperation with Sichuan and achieve greater cooperation and development with Pakistan.
Vice Governor, Sichuan Province, Gan Lin hoped to boost trade between countries in the region. Addressing the inaugural session of the Forum, Gan said that the Roundtable Forum would definitely enhance the mutual understanding and the friendship between Sichuan and South Asian countries, strengthen bilateral economic and trade cooperation and sustainable development.
He said that the roundtable meeting had been successfully held for three sessions while emphasizing the bilateral visits, active participation in the exhibitions, signing memorandum of cooperation, setting up representative offices, etc. pragmatic development of economic and trade cooperation between the countries in the region would prove to real fruitful.
The Vice Governor has extended his warmest welcome to Tariq Sayeed, the founder and former president of SARRC and leader of the Pakistani delegation. Vice President of CCPIT China, Yu Ping and Wang Li, vice leader of communication department also spoke the meeting.
Later on, a brief meeting of the leadership from all chambers of commerce to discuss the theme for next year and then over 30 local enterprises in electronic power and related fields were invited to B to B matchmaking meetings.
A banquet special organized by CCPIT to honour Pakistani delegation was hosted by Mr.Li Li, Vice President of CCPIT Sichuan Council on behalf of CCPIT. President FPCCI, Zubair Malik in his address paid gratitude to the CCPIT for extending the honour to Pakistan.
