Pakistan China friendship moves into new era of prosperity

Islamabad, March 31, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Monday said friendship between Pakistan and China has entered into a new era of prosperity.

Both the countries are enjoying cordial relations at government to government and public to public levels which are touching new heights, said Shaukat Ahmed, acting President FPCCI.

China remains a great source of strength and security for Pakistan which has been selflessly serving us since decades, he said while talking to with Mr. Tan Chengce, Vice President of Yantai Federation of Commerce and Industry who is currently leading a high-powered trade delegation to Pakistan.

Shaukat Ahmed said that the joint ventures, transfer of technology, training programmes and massive investment in energy sector of Pakistan will accelerate trade and economic activities between the all-weather friendly nations.

China has been playing an active role to promote regional peace, economic growth and prosperity through trade and investment, he said.

Shaukat Ahmed noted that the exceptional friendship between Pakistan and China has transformed into a strong and robust economic cooperation based on trust, understanding and common aspirations for peace, progress and prosperity.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tan Chengce said that the current delegation consisting leading businessmen are seeking trade opportunities in chemical, construction machinery, energy, garments, engineering and auto parts sectors.

He appreciated the efforts of FPCCI in promotion of bilateral trade and remarked that countless business opportunities exist for Pakistani entrepreneurs in China.

The meeting was also attended by Vice Presidents of the FPCCI including Mian Mehmood Ahmed, and Mr. Khurram Sayeed.

They said that exchange of trade delegations and participation in the exhibitions will further strengthen ties between both the countries.

Investors from all over the world are keen to invest in Pakistan due to investment friendly policy, they said adding that Pakistan produces best quality of cotton, vegetable and fruits especially mangos that can be exported to China, they said.

Khurram Sayeed said that FPCCI’s Pak-China Business Council has been awarded a Presidential Letter of Appreciation in recognition of its services.
