Pakistan Cricket Board constitutes Inquiry Committee to investigate grievances raised by Fawad Alam, Khalid Lateef, Sohail Khan regarding imposition of one year ban on them

Lahore, February 05, 2014 (PPI-OT): The PCB Management had constituted an Inquiry Committee to investigate the grievances raised by Mr. Fawad Alam, Mr. Khalid Lateef and Mr. Sohail Khan regarding the imposition of one year bans on them by KCCA on 18/04/13.

The Inquiry Committee comprising of Mr. Shafiq Ahmad, G.M. Domestic Cricket Operations PCB and Barrister Salman Naseer, Sr. Manager Legal PCB, visited the National Stadium Karachi to provide hearings to the 3 players and other relevant officials.

The PCB management, in light of the observations and recommendations made in the Inquiry Report have revised the bans of the 3 players effective from 18/04/2013. Mr. Fawad Alam’s ban has been reduced to a period 08 months whereas the ban imposed on Mr. Khalid Lateef has been reduced to a period of 09 months.

Both these players have already undergone the stipulated ban period and are eligible to be selected for participation in the FAYSAL BANK T-20 CUP 2014 for Regions. The ban imposed on Mr. Sohail Khan, however, has been reduced for a period of 11 months which is scheduled to expire on 18th March 2014.
