Pakistan flags hoisted in IOK

Srinagar, July 18, 2015 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, despite heavy security cover, thousands of people staged anti-India and pro-Pakistan demonstrations and hoisted Pakistani flags in Srinagar, Islamabad, Kishtwar and other parts of the territory, today.

Immediately after Eid prayers thousands of people staged anti-India and pro-freedom demonstrations in Srinagar, Islamabad, Sopore, Bandipore, Pulwama, Kulgam, Budgam, Kupwara, Shopian, Budgam, Kishtwar and other areas of the territory.

The protesters shouted high-pitched slogans, Jeevee-Jeevee Pakistan, We Want Freedom and hosted Pakistani national flags in Srinagar, Islamabad, Sopore, Kishtwar and other areas. The protesters demanded that Indian troops should leave Jammu and Kashmir without any further delay.

Hurriyet leader and Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Yasmeen Raja also led an anti-India protest and hoisted a Pakistani flag in Srinagar. The authorities have placed Hurriyet leaders including, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Ashraf Sehraee, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Zafar Akbar Butt, Ayaz Akbar under house arrest and did not allow them to join the congregational Eid prayers, today.

Several people were critically injured after Indian police personnel fired teargas shells and resorted to baton charge on protestors at Eidgah, Safa Kadal, Barzalla, Sopore, Sogam and Islamabad areas. The clashes between Indian police and protesters were going on till last reports came in. Indian paramilitary forces also lobbed tear gas shells inside the Jamia Ahlihadith at Sherbagh in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, the Hurriyet Conference leaders, talking to the media in Srinagar, today, denounced in strong terms the curbs by the authorities on the movement of liberation leaders on Eid-ul-Fitr. They called upon the international community and world human rights organizations to play their role in the early settlement of the Kashmir dispute. The leaders demanded immediate release of all illegally detained Kashmiri political prisoners lodged in different jails of India and the occupied territory.
