Lahore, June 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): AFC Legal Committee Approved The Established Of The First Ever Afc Ethics Committee, Its Composition, Structure And Regulations.
AFC Legal Committee meeting was held on 14th June, 2013 at Kuala Lumpur which was headed by the Chairman AFC Legal Committee Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat President Pakistan Football Federation and attended by its members Chairman AFC Disciplinary and Deputy Chairman AFC Appeal Commities.
According to the press release issued here by Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), AFC Legal Committee under the chairmanship of Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat approved the formation of first ever AFC Ethics Committee, its composition, structure and regulations. The meeting was also attended by representatives from FIFA and AFC Legal Department as observers. Newly elected President of AFC Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalif graced the meeting and attended its full proceedings which reflects the significance of meeting. The establishment of Ethics Committee is vital in order to protect the beautiful game of football from persons involved in unethical acts e.g. match fixing, Corruption and illegal bettings.
During the meeting it was decided that Ethics Committee will have 2 chambers
1. Investigatory Chamber
2. Judicial Chamber
The formation of these chambers will ensure transparency, Fair Play, good governance and rapid measures against Match fixing/ Corruption. Highly qualified, most suitable, professionally competent and experienced officials from AFC will be nominated in these chambers. AFC under navigational direction of Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat President PFF took vital decisions in order to counter the match fixing/ corruption which has tarnished the image of football. It’s a great honor for Pakistan that vital and prestigious decisions have been undertaken in the leadership and able guidance of PFF President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat.
