Pakistan has a very rich, diverse and colourful Culture: Chinese delegation

Islamabad, November 30, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Chinese parliamentary delegation headed by Ms. Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress visited Lok Virsa (National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage) here at Shakarparian on Saturday. On arrival, the distinguished guests were warmly received by Lok Virsa senior officials and briefed them about important aspects of Pakistan’s traditional culture and heritage.

Shen Yueyue and his team members took keen interest in the museum hall, showing contributions of the Muslims towards promotion of musical heritage, diorama on wedding rituals of Cholistan desert and link passage presenting cultural affinities and influences with the People’s Republic of China with artifacts contributed by the Chinese side as a gift to the people of Pakistan.

While exchanging their views with Lok Virsa’s officers, Shen Yueyue said “we are very much impressed to see the culture of Pakistan which has been presented beautifully in this museum”. A short live musical performance by folk artists and folk musicians was also presented to entertain the Chinese delegation at Lok Virsa.

The delegates enjoyed the music with great pleasure and enthusiasm. Earlier, they visited the Faisal Mosque and remained there for some time and appreciated the architectural grandeur of the Mosque.

The senior officials of the mosque briefed the delegation on the salient features of the mosque on the occasion. Later, the delegation also paid a visit to the Pakistan National Monument at top of Shakarparian hills, depicting history, struggle for freedom, birth and development of Pakistan as a progressive state.

The delegation took keen interest in the displays portraying the contributions of national heroes and their contributions. Meanwhile Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Deputy Speaker National Assembly hosted lunch in honour of Chinese delegation. Federal Ministers, Parliamentarians, Members of the Pak China Friendship Group and senior officers were also present on the occasion.
