Lahore, August 30, 2012 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) Thursday announced its candidates for the upcoming LCCI elections scheduled for September 19 and 20’ For the Corporate Class the candidates are: Tanvir Ahmad Sufi from Sufi Group, Iftikhar Bashir Chaudhry, Chairman Lahore Township Industrial Area, Ibrar Ahmad from leather and chemical sector and Tashraf Javaid.
For Associate Class, the PIAF candidates are: Rizwan Khalid from Urdu Bazar, former Chairman Plastic Manufacturers Association SM Tariq, Trade leader Irfan Iqbal Sheikh and Nasir Hameed Khan.
The candidates were finalized by the PIAF Parliamentary Committee met here Thursday under the chairmanship of Committee Chairman Mian Anjum Nisar and attended by the PIAF Chairman Engineer Sohail Lashari, former LCCI Presidents Mian Shafqat Ali, Mohammad Ali Mian former Senior Vice President Sheikh Mohammad Arshad and LCCI Executive Committee members belonging to PIAF.
Speaking on the occasion, PIAF parliamentary Committee Chairman Mian Anjum Nisar said that while selecting the candidates for LCCI elections, both the trade and industry were given due representation.
He said that all the candidates were selected with the consensus of all the committee members because the PIAF is a democratic body and in democracy the decisions are made with consultation.
Mian Anjum Nisar said that the PIAF candidates along with Founders candidates will jointly contest upcoming LCCI polls form the platform of PIAF-Founders Alliance.
The PIAF Chairman Engineer Sohail Lashari, former LCCI Presidents Mian Shafqat Ali, Mohammad Ali Mian and former SVP Sheikh Mohammad Arshad also spoke on the occasion and pledged to continue their efforts for the well being of the business community.
