Pakistan participates in defence show in Malaysia

Islamabad, April 16, 2014 (PPI-OT): The top five Defence shows in the world in which 1000 companies from 50 countries are participating is currently being held in Putra World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Group pavilions of 28 countries from Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Korea, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, Ukraine, USA and ASEAN countries have been set up in the exhibitions.

Pakistan is also actively participating with its range of arms and ammunition, Radio telecommunication devices, solar solutions, jamming devices, tanks, armored vehicles and a wide range of products produced at Global Industries and Defence Solutions (GIDS).

Pakistan’s Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain was given a warm welcome by the Minister for Defence Malaysia, Dato Sri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein. Secretary General Defence Dato Sri Dr. Haji Ismael bin Haji Ahmed also held meeting with Rana Tanveer. During the meeting both Malaysia and Pakistan showed interest in expanding areas of cooperation in the field of defence. Both countries urged that forums for defence cooperation can be fully utilized to expand the scope of cooperation and joint ventures.

Besides meeting the Defence Minister, Rana Tanveer Hussain also held a meeting with Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Air Staff and Chief of Defence Staff of Malaysia. “Pakistan expects this mega event to serve as a platform for creating favorable linkages and forging partnerships besides offering opportunities for joint collaborations” our Minister said.

A large number of foreign and local delegates who visited the Pakistani stalls on the first day greatly appreciated the high standards of defence equipment manufactured in Pakistan.
