Pakistan’s future is bright as country has abundance of human and natural resources: Minister

Islamabad, June 04, 2013 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Sohail Wajahat Hussain Siddiqui has said that Pakistan future is bright as there is a huge potential of Human and Natural Resources in the country. It depends upon us how and when we are able to capitalize these resources for the well being of the common man, he maintained. He said this while addressing the Farwell party arranged in his hounour in the Ministry.

Sohail Wajahat H. Siddiqui has said that his tenure as a caretaker Minister was a great experience and that he learned a lot about the ministry and energy sector of the Pakistan. “It was a tough task to hold general election and we ensured countries supply of oil and gas to the power sector to control the load shedding during the elections”, the minister stated.

We were successful in our efforts as not a single event of load shedding was reported during the election week. During election we continuously worked for days and might. Officers and staff of this ministry and its subordinates companies have proved that energy shortfall can be controlled if will is there to do so. The Minister appreciated the contribution of the Secretary Petroleum and other senior officer and staff during his tenure and said that this cooperation has made his job easy.

He said that good thing about this short tenure is that we have added additional gas in the system and new reservoirs of gas were also discovered. At the end Secretary Petroleum Abid Saeed presented shield to the outgoing care taker minister.
