Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India appreciates Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry for deciding to hold Pakistan Show 2014 at Amritsar

Lahore, April 24, 2014 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit has appreciated the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) for deciding to hold Pakistan Show 2014 at Amritsar, India on May 8 to 12.

In a letter to the LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari, Pakistan’s High Commissioner said: the idea of holding “Pakistan show 2014 at Amritsar is appreciated and we expect that this expo would become a flagship event of the LCCI every year. Hopefully the show will be multi-sectoral /multi-products exhibition to present the best part of Pakistan’s export sector having potential for Indian Market.

The LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari through a letter written to Pakistan’s High Commissioner on April 11 had invited him to Pakistan Show 2014 being arranged by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In his letter, the LCCI President had also thrown light on the importance of regional trade which is a prerequisite to economic growth, progress and prosperity. The LCCI President said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry would continue to strive for the economic revival of the country through all possible steps. It would not only hold exhibitions in the regional countries but would also send sector specific delegations to all business destinations of the world.

The LCCI President said that Pakistan Show was the first ever exhibition being arranged by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in other country that would be jointly inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister of Indian Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal and High Commissioner of Pakistan in New Delhi Abdul Basit.

He said although the LCCI had a lot of experience in holding local exhibitions but the Show in Amritsar would be a new experience for this chamber.

Engineer Sohail Lashari said that the very objective of arranging Pakistan Show in India was to introduce Pakistani merchandise in Indian market. He said that a large of Pakistani entrepreneurs belonging to almost all sectors of the economy were taking part in this mega event. He said that it is hoped that the Indian businessmen and consumers would get a great benefit of this activity.

The LCCI President said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry had arranged a strong 300 businessmen delegation for the exhibition out which hundred people are putting on display their products.

He said that the LCCI had also arranged a cultural show on the sidelines of the exhibition that would be an added attraction for the Indian participants. He said that renowned Pakistani singers like Arif Lohar and Malko would perform at the cultural show.
