PM Khan meets KP Cabinet, issues special directions

Cabinet members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in Peshawar today (Wednesday).

The Prime Minister directed the cabinet members to regularly visit their constituencies to ensure speedy addressal of problems faced by the people.  He said serving the poor is the real success.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister also issued directions to improve the mobile and internet coverage in the tribal districts.  He directed to enhance the scope of Kamyab Jawaan Program to the tribal districts.

Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed for promoting tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  He said this will enhance the revenue and increate job opportunities.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan informed the Prime Minister that the performance of all the ministries is reviewed on monthly basis.

Meanwhile, talking to media persons at Governor House in Peshawar today, Prime Minister Imran Khan said the government is mulling over to approach the Supreme Court for conducting the Senate elections through show of hand.

He said consultations are underway over the legal aspects as the government believes in transparent and fair conduct of the elections.

The Prime Minister said horse-trading in the Senate elections remained very easy for the governments in past, but he expelled 20 provincial assembly members from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf over their alleged involvement in the practice.

Referring to the Pakistan Democratic Movement, Imran Khan said there is no threat to the PTI government from the opposition’s gatherings.

He said the opposition has sought a 34-page NRO which would not be granted to them.
