Police officials are protectors of the lives and property of people

Lahore, October 20, 2012 (PPI-OT): The police officers/officials are the protectors of the lives and property of the people and they are not the rulers. The uniform in fact, is a trust of the public in the police. This responsibility can only be fulfilled by providing justice to the public.

 

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman expressed these views while addressing an open-court held in the office of District Police Officer (DPO) Khanewal today. RPO Multan Aamir Zulifqar, DPO Khanewal Rai Ijaz Ahmed, DPO Lodhran Agha Muhammad Yousaf, DPO Vehari Ali Nasir Rizvi were also present on this occasion besides other officers.

 

The IGP said that he wanted corruption-free police department. The police chief also warned that any officer found involved in corruption or malpractice would never be spared. The IGP said that honest and hardworking officers are appointed all over the province to downgrade crimes and to eliminate the criminals from the society.

 

The IGP said that the lists of Top-10 proclaimed offenders involved in terrorism, dacoity, murder, and kidnapping for ransom cases have been prepared. The police teams are hunting the criminals under the direct supervision of CPOs.

 

The provincial police chief further said that due to an effective Action Plan and strong policing, the crime rate has decreased by 25 per cent across the province.

 

IGP Punjab acknowledged the services and performance of DPO Khanewal as appreciated by the media representatives and the public.

 

During the open-court, the IGP listened to a good number of complainants and issued on-the-spot orders regarding the complaints related to murder, rape, kidnappings, and change of investigations, illegal possessions, and non-arrest of the accused persons.

The IGP suspended SHO Khanewal City police station Zulifqar Ali and SHO Makhdoompur, Zahid Gujjar, on the complaints of two women, who appeared before the police chief get justice.
