President attends farewell reception at Kashmir house Islamabad

Islamabad, September 06, 2013 (PPI-OT): President Asif Ali Zardari today reiterated unswerving moral, political and diplomatic support of the country and that of the people of Pakistan to their Kashmiri brethren in their legitimate struggle for their right of self-determination.

Addressing a farewell reception hosted in his honour by the leadership of Azad Jammu and Kashmir here at Kashmir House today, the President said that the Kashmiris have rendered great sacrifices for their just and legitimate cause and added that their sacrifices will not go in vain.

The President said that it goes to the credit of the people and the leadership of Kashmir that instead of following aggressive means they opted for political means to achieve their objective. He said that the struggle waged on political platform based on humanitarian grounds and on the basis of natural and inalienable right was bound to succeed.

While reassuring Pakistan’s continued support to Kashmiri brethren he said that the message that patience bears fruit needs to be conveyed to the coming generations. Giving his own example the President said that he successfully completed his tenure because he exercised patience and never reacted to political attacks of his adversaries.

On this occasion the President also recounted various efforts and the contributions made by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to highlight Kashmir cause. The President thanked the Kashmiri leadership for hosting the reception for him.

Those who were present on the occasion included among others President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, Prime Minister AJK Ch. Abdul Majid, former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Speaker AJK and a large number of Kashmiri leadership was also present on the occasion.
