President directs VC AIOU to decide ‘hardship case’ of student in her favour

President Dr Arif Alvi has directed the Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University to decide the ‘hardship case’ of a student in her favour, who was declined the M.Ed degree due to maladministration of the university.

He also set aside the findings of the Federal Ombudsman, which had closed the case of the complainant student by referring to a judgment of Supreme Court as saying that ‘the courts should not interfere into the policy matters of educational institutions.

The complainant Miss Asia Saeed Malik, had filed a representation with the President of Pakistan against the ruling of the Wafaqi Mohtasib.
