Lahore, June 20, 2016 (PPI-OT): President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) to resolve the issues of tripping, low voltage and unscheduled load shedding at Ferozepur Road Industrial Area.
The LCCI President was talking to a delegation of Ferozepur Road Industrial Associaiton (FRIA) led by its Chairman Khawaja Shahzeb Akram. Adnan Khalid Butt and Arshad Baig were the other prominent members of the delegation.
The delegation informed the LCCI president that tripping and unscheduled load shedding is ruining the industrial activities in the Ferozepur Road Industrial area.
After listening to their point of view, Sheikh Muhammad Arshad said that how the government would be able to collect revenues to run its day-to-day affairs when the industrial wheel is coming to a halt.
The LCCI President said that the government should understand that economic well being is a must.
He said that the industry needs a continuous supply of electricity to keep the units operational and to complete the export orders well within the given timeframe but only because of the shortage of electricity the exports are not up to the mark.
He said that Pakistan had already lost a number of international markets and the new longer hour power cuts would further aggravate the situation. He said that cheaper and uninterrupted power supply is only way to achieve economic targets set for the year 2016-17.
The LCCI President said that Ferozepur Road Industrial Area is not the only victim of tripping, low voltage and unscheduled load shedding therefore LESCO should resolve this issue on at the earliest.
