President Zardari approves confirmation of three additional judges of Sindh High Court and one Additional Judge of Islamabad High Court as judges of the said courts

Karachi, May 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): President Asif Ali Zardari on the advice of the Prime Minister has approved the confirmation of three Additional Judges of Sindh High Court and one Additional Judge of Islamabad High Court as judges of SHC and IHC respectively.

Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said that these nominations were forwarded by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan to the Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment in the Superior Courts which could not held its meeting due to electioneering, hence under clause 12 of article 175 A of the constitution, the nominations sent by Judicial Commission were deemed to have been confirmed. Under Clause 13 of Article 175A of the Constitution, the nominations deemed to have been confirmed were subsequently forwarded to the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister, in turn, advised the President to accord his approval to these appointments and acting upon the advice of the Prime Minister, the President has approved the confirmation of Mr. Justice Noor ul Haq N.Qureshi, Additional Judge, IHC as judge of the said Court and Mr. Justice Abdul Rasool Memon, Mr. Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto and Mr. Justice Sadiq Husaain Bhatti, Additional Judges Sindh High Court as Judges of SHC.
