President Zardari directs that every effort be made for rehabilitation of victims of earthquake in Balochistan

Islamabad, April 18, 2013 (PPI-OT): President Asif Ali Zardari has directed that every effort be made for rehabilitation of the victims of Tuesday’s earthquake in Balochistan.

Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the President has also announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs. 500,000/- for next of kin of those who lost their lives in the earthquake and Rs. 100,000/- for the wounded. Those wounded in the earthquake will be provided medical assistance.

The President has further directed National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to urgently prepare a damage assessment report so that the Government could undertake reconstruction of the damaged property in the earthquake areas, the Spokesperson said.
