Islamabad, February 29, 2016 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has congratulated Ms Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy on winning the Oscar’s Award for the second time for her documentary “A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness”. Lauding the efforts of Ms Sharmeen, the Prime Minister said that there is no place for killing in the name of honour in Islam.
The Prime Minister further said that his government is in the process of legislating to stop such brutal and inhumane acts in the name of honour. Women like Ms Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy are not only a pride for the Pakistani nation but are also a significant source of contribution towards the march of civilisation world over.
